Forgive me if I’ve been elusive.

I’m hammering away at the first 60 pages of a really long comic. I’m doing my best to pencil out the whole chapter and, to be honest, it’s a harrowing task.  Telling long stories with pictures is outrageously tedious. Thank fuck that Dylan Horrocks is there to cheer us on. Here’s a video of us being cheered on. In the video you get to see my hand and the top my head. A fine aspect!

Anyway. I’ll have some preview pages up here soon.

Lumpen #7 landed in time for the zine fair at the Festival of the Photocopier. It’s a pretty two-colour offset job that folds out into a poster sized comic. I have hundreds of the bastards to offload so I’m selling them cheap! You can buy one here for two bucks.

Whoa! Fame! Just had an interview posted on the ASL website and I may or may not be part of Drawing out and Drawing In: A spotlight on graphic novels  on at the Wheeler Centre for Books, Writing and Ideas in Melbourne in late April.

Oh, and I’ve recently started a new blog called Unfinished Comics which is a little bit academic and a little bit pretentious, but it’s about drawing comics so the hard-core comic nerds out there might be interested.

I’m starting a PHD in March 2010, and guess what it is in? COMICS!

Soon you’ll be forced for address me as Doctor Pat, just like the tobacco. Ha.

Also, checkout the Atlas just released by Ronnie Scott and his vast team of talented cohorts at The Lifed Brow. There’s a creative piece for every country in the world. Poetry, prose, comics, illustration and sound recording. I’ve got a really strange illustrated story in there about Luxembourg.
